Mantayupan Falls – Alternative to Tumalog Falls
Hello, this is CebuHoppintTour.com.
As we previously announced, Tumalog Falls has been temporarily closed due to the drought in the Philippines.
We expect the rainfall issue to be resolved once the Philippines enters the rainy season or Cebu is affected by tropical depressions or typhoons, but it will likely take some time. Therefore, we have decided on an alternative course.
The alternative to Tumalog Falls is Mantayupan Falls.
Compared to Tumalog Falls, Mantayupan Falls is a bit far from the Oslob Whale Shark point. Please note that due to this location issue, it may not be possible to visit depending on the tour situation on the day.
About Mantayupan Falls
Mantayupan Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in Cebu, boasting a majestic 98-meter drop. Surrounded by lush forests, it’s the perfect place to relax in nature. There’s also a natural pool at the bottom of the falls where you can enjoy a refreshing swim.
Mantayupan Falls is located in the Barili region, about 80km southwest of Cebu City, and takes about 2.5 hours by car.
Mantayupan Falls is not just a tourist attraction but also a valuable resource that provides electricity to the local community. A hydroelectric power plant utilizing the waterfall contributes to the production of eco-friendly energy.
